In situations where there is a preference for desks that look good when placed either singly or in pairs, Tool is a good choice. Because the frame is largely recessed under the desktop, the desk requires relatively little room. Since the frame of the top is only linked to the main frame at the back, the desktop appears to float. A characteristic detail is the recessed rear support, which heightens this floating effect. If several desks are placed together, the desk frames appear to be a single unit.
The dimensions of Tool comply with NEN 2449. The height can be adjusted between 620 and 850 mm and the current setting is shown on the frame of the desktop. Tool is available in three variants, in which the height is adjustable, mechanically adjustable, and electrically adjustable. A version that will be electrically adjustable from sitting height to standing height is being developed. Accessories such as partitions, screening panels, flat-screen holders and lighting are also being developed and will be an integral part of the range.
